The company wanted to move beyond common blue-sky innovation (which often results in unsuitable or impractical ideas) and ensure that new ideas were aligned with their business strategy, relevant for customers and ultimately attainable.
Territory facilitated and trained leaders and culture champions within the organization so that they would not only live the experience, but be able to duplicate the process later among other teams (and hopefully generate similar results). This training was not a standard sit-and-listen training, it was infused with ample interactive exercises, ideation sessions, and collaboration opportunities.
Dozens of exercises and visuals were created and deployed to help participants access new ways of thinking about innovation.

A favorite module was reverse engineering assets and expertise. This module involved breaking the company into “elemental particles” and reshaping it into something else entirely. The teams also learned about quickly (and inexpensively) validating ideas.
